HOSPITAL VISIT....

On President's day a few weeks ago Naelani spiked a fever of 102. Which we all know in infants is not a good thing. We immediately took her to urgent care where they sent us off to the hospital to run tests. She looked healthy but something was going on for her to have a fever that high. After waiting FOREVER in the ER at Banner Desert they took us back where they ran sooo many tests on her. After running the tests they informed us that she had a very bad urinary tract infection, which caused a blood infection as well. SOO needless to say she was admitted.

They continued to do more tests to make sure it didn't cause meningitis and all that fun stuff, which we are grateful it didn't. She was in the hospital for one LONG whole week. They sent her home with a picc line in her arm. A picc line is a little silicone tube that they thread through her little veins and it sets right above the heart. She came home with a picc line so that they could have a homecare nurse visit us every day for the next 4 days to give her, her IV antibiotics. Here are some pictures from her stay in the hospital. The infection is finally gone. She is still on antibiotics until she takes this test in a couple weeks where they fill her bladder up with dye and take x-rays as she pees it out to make sure that her urine is going down and not up to where it can cause another infection.

It's basically been a very challenging couple months with Naelani. We are grateful that it's just this we are dealing with, it could be worse ! right ?!?!

Naelani & her dad had a lot of bonding time.
Justin spent just about every night in the hospital w/her.

Her first smiles & coos were in the hospital

This is where her 1st picc line was

GOING HOME !! YAHOO

That tube makes me so sad! She is so so cute though! I don't know who she looks like. I can't believe how sick your kids have been lately, what a pain!

Oh my gosh. This totally made me tear up. I am so sad for that cute girl and for your family. I hope she gets feeling better. Nicky got a UTI right when we had Andy. Since she was only 18 months they made her do all the fun X-rays with the dye and the ultrasound of kidneys. Not fun with a toddler. Hopefully will not be as traumatic for your sweet girl. Luckily they don't remember. This needs to be the END for you guys and your health issues.
